Description
The Lumiera Buildsystem is based on Scons, which is implemented in Python and uses Python scripts to define the structure and goals of the build. Currently, Linux distributions are forcing the transition to Python-3 (to end that never ending story...). As soon as we're able to use a Scons installation supporting Python-3, we should see what changes are necessary to keep going.

Resolved as part of the infrastructure overhaul in winter 2025/26.
The Lumiera Website Server is upgraded to Debian-13, which resolved the last hold-back.
I applied the (partial) upgrade tweaks prepared by Benny (stashed away as git branch). Furthermore, I went through the code and improved naming and decision logic, which allowed to resolve the remaining double indirection problems, that had caused a insidious break with Python-3

Some weeks ago, Benny tried to build Lumieara on Debian-Bullseye; on this platform, the Scons version supports Python, and Python-2 support has been dropped.
