Description

Clip UI fully implemented

this is a tracking ticket -- individual tasks depending.

A Clip can represent a section from a media file, or (as »meta clip«) a section from another nested timeline. The Clip UI can be expected to support several styles of display

  • placeholder
  • abridged
  • collapsed
  • expanded

In accordance to this representation flavour, the content is represented symbolic, as a summarised rendering or expanded, showing nested tracks. This representation must be responsive and the implementation load for Clips way out of sight must be tuned down. It is tantamount that the reaction to zooming is instantaneous, and the clip display is able to degrade gracefully, especially when a complete representation is besides the point
